Destination Imagination

Overview

Destination Imagination (DI)is a challenge based educational programme, here to empower students to be the winners that a 21st Century learner should become. No matter what kind of innovation the world brings in, our students will be able to face and be successful through these instant and project based learning skills.

DI creates a learning experience that is composed of 3 different tasks: the Team Challenge, the Instant Challenge, and Team Choice Elements.

The Team Challenge features a given prompt in 7 diverse educational subjects from Performing Arts to Engineering. All challenges include a performance which helps inculcate inter-disciplinary learning within the DI syllabus. Young innovators spend two to three months developing a solution to the prompt, and present their final solution during the national competition.

Moreover, Instant Challenges are given to participants on the spot and focus on skill-building. This aids a child's impromptu problem-solving and expands their ability to improvise and innovate

Team Choice Elements compel students to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, which not only nurtures analytical thinking within pupils, but also establishes a culture of feedback, critical response, and constructive criticism. These skills, when combined, cultivate 21st century global citizens, prepared to innovate and create positive impacts within their communities.

• The Regional stage
• The Global stage – based in the USA

DI is incomparable in its benefits, and is truly going to create the leaders of tomorrow. Unlike other competitions, DI is multi-dimensional, and helps students raise their level of thinking to a higher level, rather than being forced to set into a mundane form of thinking.
